Millimeter Designs approached us with an exciting opportunity. To create a large-scale mural for the newly opened Chopped restaurant in the heart of Smithfield, Dublin. The brief challenged us to blend local architectural elements with personal touches that reflected the restaurant owner’s life. Specifically, we needed to feature iconic Smithfield landmarks. Along with portraits of the owner’s two sons and their beloved family dog.
We set out to design a mural that captured the vibrant spirit of the Smithfield area. While aligning with Chopped’s fresh, health-focused identity. Our approach combined urban architectural imagery with a bold, graffiti-inspired style. We wove in dynamic elements like fresh produce, lush greenery, and energetic visual motifs to echo the healthy lifestyle Chopped promotes. The result is a colorful, layered composition that feels lively, welcoming, and perfectly in sync with the restaurant’s aesthetic.
Throughout the process, we maintained close collaboration with the client, ensuring the design stayed true to both the brand and the personal story it aimed to tell. The final piece quickly became a visual centerpiece inside the restaurant, drawing the eyes of customers and sparking conversation.
Near the end of the project, one of Chopped’s co-owners visited the space. His reaction said it all—he loved the mural and praised how seamlessly it fit into the environment.
This mural project was a rewarding experience that let us fuse creativity with community storytelling. We’re proud of the work and the impact it’s had, and we look forward to bringing more stories to life through art in future collaborations. https://www.chopped.ie/http://www.millimetredesign.com/
