Art has been a driving force in ADW’s life since his early days in primary school, where he first began exploring his creative instincts. After five years studying animation at Ballyfermot College in Dublin, he moved to the UK to work in the computer games industry. In 2005, he returned to Ireland, which was experiencing an economic boom at the time. However, as the years went on, he grew increasingly disillusioned with the prospect of a career in computer graphics, yearning for a more creatively fulfilling future. His path was ultimately altered in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, when he was laid off from his position as a full-time 3D artist. This forced transition pushed him to return to his artistic roots, and he began creating art full-time. A passionate creative and social activist, ADW’s work reflects the economic collapse, with his art and street pieces gaining widespread recognition. Infused with satire and unflinching honesty, his work often carries a sharp, biting sense of humor.
