Café en Seine

We were thrilled when Millimeter Designs approached us for a project at Café en Seine. One of Dublin’s most iconic and beloved venues, which was undergoing an exciting full refurbishment. They had a unique request: to produce two French-inspired artworks. This would bring a fresh yet nostalgic atmosphere to the venue. The pieces were spray-painted onto two original red brick chimney breasts. This presented a challenging surface, but we’re never shy from a challenge!

For the first piece, we envisioned a dreamy, intricate Persian design. By capturing the elegance and mystique of French-inspired art with rich, flowing details. The second piece drew on the glamour and energy of the vintage jazz era. By evoking the style of classic French jazz posters that were so popular in the mid-20th century. We wanted to create a contrast between the two pieces. Offering a balance of dreamy elegance and lively, retro vibes.

Millimeter Designs

After we sent the mock-ups to Millimeter Designs, they thrilled at the concepts and immediately gave us the go-ahead to start. The spray-painting process on the challenging red brick surfaces took some precision and care. The results were absolutely worth it. The two pieces of art beautifully complemented the high-spec refurbishment Café en Seine. They blended in seamlessly with the newly installed décor and adding a sophisticated, artistic edge to the space.

The café’s patrons and owners enthusiastically embraced the outcome. Customers frequently shared positive feedback about the artwork, praising how it transformed the venue’s atmosphere. Many couldn’t stop complimenting its impact. The owners felt absolute delight, thrilled that the artwork brought their vision to life and enhanced the venue’s unique charm.

It was incredibly rewarding to see our designs become an integral part of such a renowned venue, and we’re proud to have contributed to the revitalisation of Café en Seine.
