? Deep Love ?

Deep Love – Variations from its origins painted on a shipwreck off the Wexford coast to tattoos, book covers, and even a feature in the 2021 Oscar-winning film Belfast, this piece has taken on a life of its own. It’s incredible to see how far it has travelled and how deeply it has resonated with so many. ?

Painting on a shipwreck was both terrifying and exhilarating. Before heading out, we spent a couple of days researching the tides to ensure we had enough time to reach the boat, complete the mural, and get back before the water rose too high. Thankfully, we finished just in time and even managed to capture a close-up final image. I have to give a huge thanks to my good friend Brian, without his help, this shot of the shipwreck wouldn’t have been possible.

Deep Love – Variations Jan Carson asked to use the image in her French version of The Fire Starter.

I was thrilled when they asked to use Deep Love in the upcoming movie Belfast. When I got the email, they didn’t share many details since the film was still in its early production stages. Everything was to be kept on the low down. I didn’t even know what the film was going to be. Well done to Kenneth Branagh for winning best original screenplay.
