‘Deep Love’ just got a well-deserved refresh
Originally painted back in 2017 for Hit the North, this Belfast piece had taken a bit of a beating from the elements over the past 8 years. The wall was crumbling, the colours fading, but the love for it never stopped.
I scrubbed the wall back, primed it with a stabilising bond, and gave it new life. Now it’s standing strong again, ready for more years of being part of the city’s fabric.

The mural Deep Love appeared in the opening credits of the 2021 movie Belfast.
Belfast is a 2021 coming-of-age drama written and directed by Kenneth Branagh. Featuring performances by Caitríona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciarán Hinds, Colin Morgan, and Jude Hill. The film tells the story of a young boy growing up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, during the onset of The Troubles in 1969. Branagh has called it his “most personal” film.
