Havas advertising agency invited me to paint a 7up Free street art mural on Lesson Street in Dublin. They wanted a large mural featuring the iconic 7up character, Fido. The mural stood out from a distance, making the character and logo instantly recognisable. Lesson Street is always buzzing with activity. With countless pedestrians stopped to take pictures. While drivers stuck in traffic probably wished for an ice-cold can of 7up Free!

I arrived on Lesson Street at 4:00 AM on a Sunday morning, with a massive MEWP truck blocking a third of the road for me. Painting a mural that the council could shut down at any moment. This added an extra thrill to the experience, definitely one I won’t forget. Dublin at that hour is a strange mix. With late-night stragglers making their way home and die-hard fitness enthusiasts jogging or cycling past. Not quite night, not quite morning, a city-center purgatory, as I’d call it.

By the way never ask me how I got a traffic management plan for the job, I never want to talk about it.

In the end, the project went smoothly, and Havas had a brilliant idea. By using street art as a form of advertising on Lesson Street. Big thanks to Ryan and the crew for bringing me on board.

Surprisingly, I even had time to paint my street piece, The Miss, on Liberty Lane after wrapping up the 7up mural. A long day overall, but that glass of wine tasted a lot sweeter when I finally got home after a pretty successful day. Check out The Miss here!
