I was delighted and honored to be asked to paint a mural at the Mendicity Buildings of the Easter rising 1916- 2016 equal rights and equal opportunities. I was asked by Aisling Dreaming Again project to help with the organising of street art. Guaranteeing equal rights and equal opportunities to all. They are called the Mendo Walls. Which is to help clean up and bring some colour to the area.
Aisling Dreaming Again is inspired by the futuristic dreams of that 1916 generation to invent a new Ireland, guaranteeing “equal rights and equal
opportunities to all” pursuing “the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and of all its parts”. My image was inspired by the original proclamation. It struck me what the leaders of the 1916 rising dreamt of…we are still dreaming of.
